The LL.B. is designed for four years and its course is 85% similar to the course of study for the state examination. It can be roughly divided into three phases:
-
The foundation phase
In the first four semesters, the legal basics are taught. The course during this time corresponds to the course in law.
In addition, there is one course in IT or IP law per semester. In the third and fourth semesters, this is in English. In this way, students are comprehensively prepared for the second phase.
-
The stay abroad
In the fifth and sixth semester, the stay abroad takes place at one of the partner universities of the LL.B.. Here, at least two courses in IT and IP law must be taken. The majority of the courses at the partner universities are held in English.
-
The focus phase
In the seventh and eighth semesters, only subjects in IT and IP law are taken. The Bachelor thesis is written during the lecture-free period between the seventh and eighth semesters. At the end of the eighth semester, a written exam and an oral exam follow.
With this, the LL.B. is passed.
