Bias and Discrimination in Algorithmic Decision-Making
The BIAS project invites you to the conference "Bias and Discrimination in Algorithmic Decision-Making" on April 27th and 28th at the Leibnizhaus Hannover. The conference, gathering international scholars from philosophy, law, and information technology, focuses on the implications of the integration of algorithmic systems and artificial intelligence into decision-making processes. In particular, algorithmic systems pose specific risks of injustice and discrimination, and addressing these from an interdisciplinary perspective is an important part of digitisation.
Participation and Registration
The conference is free of charge. Registration via the conference website is requested by 31 March 2023. An online broadcast is not planned.
About the organizer
BIAS is an interfaculty research initiative funded by Volkswagenstiftung and composed of experts from philosophy, law, and computer science, bringing together epistemological and ethical, legal and technical perspectives. Our shared research question is: How can we ensure that big data analysis and algorithm-based decision-making are unbiased and nondiscriminatory?
